
Indian Air Force’s AWACS (Airborne Warning and Control System), Is set up for the Indian Air Force of the three one of them has touched the Indian soil at the Jamnagar air base, The AWACS came from Israel.The Air Force chief F.H.Major received the symbolic key of the aeroplane from the Indian Defence Minister A.K.Antony. The first AWACS equipped IL-76 aircraft is on the grounds. India is the first country in South Asia to own the “eye in the sky” (AWACS). The deal which was done in 2004 was carried out by Israel, the aircraft which is equipped with a sophisticated Phalcon early warning radar surveillance system which is perched on the top of the Russian Ilyushin-76 aircraft. AWACS is to operate from the Agra airbase under the Central command. It was escorted by three Mig-29 and Jaguar.
