The First Indian Metro Rail

The first Truly Indian Metro train, was flagged off from near to Vadodara by Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi. 

“This is my third trip to this factory in the past 18 months. Slowly, India and the rest of the world will realize the importance of today’s event,” said Modi. 

 Bombardier Transportation will supply a total of 81 train sets which comprises 424 broad gauge coaches to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation. (DMRC). The trains are designed to give the passengers a comfort bale ride. This is the first train manufactured four-coach train as a part of the 424-cars order from DMRC. They are energy efficient and would costs much less when compared to imported counterparts. The reduction of the noise from the coaches has been reduced and is equipped with an advanced braking system. The A/C has also been improved. The floor and the bogie design has been improved. The coaches are state of the art design and has used the most advanced manufacturing units and technology like spot-welding robots, which is used for the first time in India for rail car body manufacturing. 35-40% of the coaches are indigenous since the spare parts are manufactured locally. The train has an environment friendly design. The coaches are equipped with CCTV cameras.
